Ministry of the Popular Power for Foreign Affairs Official Note The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Commander Hugo Chavez, with the Venezuelan government and Nation, firmly rejects the Resolution N°S/2010/283 approved by the Security Council of the United Nations, through which the new political and economic sanctions are imposed to the brother Iranian nation and its brave Government. Not paying attention to the efforts of the countries of good will that unfolded to reach an agreement without precedents in the matter of nuclear cooperation with Tehran, the Security Council attacks once more against the dignity of the Persian nation. This unusual decision takes place few days after that the State of Israel brought out a massacre in international waters, where the Security Council was incapable of condemning the attacking country, leaving in the open lacks the ethical legitimacy and the necessary representativeness to guarantee true peace and justice in the world. The Bolivarian Government renews its unrestricted endorsement to the legitimate aspirations of the nation of Iran to the use of the nuclear power with pacific aims and condemns this new oriented action to prevent its march towards the development and social welfare. The Venezuelan government lodges the conviction that the ethical force of the nation and the government of Iran, along with the shared in common support of friendly nations like Venezuela, will overcome this new imposition, thus contributing for the sprouting of a pluripolar world where justice and respect to the sovereignty reign.
